STEP ONE:
Choose a theme. Rooms with a theme always look better as everything fits together. It doesn't need to be an all out theme however such as a punk or beachy theme- it can be something as simple as all white furniture or blue trimmings.

STEP TWO:
Arrange your furniture to suit your room. Normally, the bed will be the main focus of the room. Try placing your bed up against a window (if you have one) to give natural light and more space rather than placing it in the middle of the room. Also, make sure your furniture all matches.
STEP THREE:
Print off and stick up photos, records, paintings, drawings, knicknacks, even clothing on your walls. Anything that is meaningful to you- old bus tickets from that time you were hanging out with friends, old movie tickets, photobooths, quotes and art you like from the internet. It's important to hang up things that reflect yourself and your interests as this is what a bedroom is about! A place you can escape to that is all your own. Bands you like, posters of t.v shows, etc.

Records make awesome wall acessories. You don't even need to use ones you actually listen to! Simply go down to your local thrift store and choose a heap of random old records and bingo, you've got a tumblr wall acessory.
STEP FOUR:
Cut out or print off some big quotes that you can stick on your wall. An easy way to do this is to get black paper, and cut out the letters for your quote. Often, these are song lyrics but you can do whatever!
STEP FIVE:
Lighting.
Lighting is one of the most important parts of your room's aesthetic. The biggest source of lighting should be your window, and at night, a few small lamps. Avoid ceiling lights as they often cast a nasty light on your room, making everything yellow. Try one bright floor light, or... Fairy lights! In almost every tumblr bedroom, there is fairy lights of some kind. They cast a lovely light onto your room and improve the ambiance, as well as being found in your local kmart, big w, walmart (idk other places for other countries?)

STEP SIX:
Storage.
A great idea of how to hang your clothes up (if you don't have an inbuilt wardrobe) is from racks. Clothe racks are inexpensive and easy to move around. You can also colour code your wardrobe on the rack to make it look even better. Another great idea for storing sunglasses is on a coat hanger. Perfect!
STEP SEVEN:
Your bed.
All tumblr beds tend to be low, and all have white sheets, pillows and doonas. White sheets etc is a must for any tumblr bedroom as it gives off such clean, nice vibes.
STEP EIGHT:
(Optional)
Have heaps of plants in your room. Not only do plants aid ambiance, they look great in a room and can help with the atmosphere.
